Ce lundi 15 mars ont été annoncé, par Priyanka Chopra et Nick Jonas (couple à l’écran et à la ville), les très attendus nommés pour les Oscars 2021. La 93e cérémonie aura lieu le 25 avril prochain, une date décalée par rapport aux habitudes puisque, comme tout le monde, le cinéma américain a été impactée par les restrictions sanitaires les cinéma sont fermés depuis mars 2020.
Sans surprise, les favoris trustent les nominations prestigieuses : Judas And The Black Messiah obtient 7 nominations, tandis que The Father, Minari, Nomadland, Sound of Metal et Les 7 de Chicago cumulent 6 nominations. David Fincher et son Mank décrochent 10 nominations. La France rate le coche parmi les films nominés dans la catégorie Meilleur Film Etranger, c’est mon favori Drunk de Thomas Vinterberg y figure et le réalisateur se paie même le luxe de figurer parmi les Meilleurs Réalisateurs nommés. On pourra tout de même s’enorgueillir de voir que The Father, réalisé par le frenchy Florent Zeller, figure en bonne position. D’ailleurs, au passage, cette catégorie accueille 2 femmes dans ses rangs : Chloe Zhao pour le plébiscité Nomadland et Emerald Fennell pour Promising Young Woman.
Coté technique, c’est un poil plus varié, si bien qu’on y retrouve Tenet et Mulan avec 3 nominations chacun et Pinocchio avec 2 nominations. Etrangement (ou pas), la campagne pour Wonder Woman 1984 n’a pas porté ses fruits u_u
